While looking at the calendar for Memorial Day weekend, we noticed a vintage equipment show up at Santa Margarita Ranch. Our team was driving up to Santa Maria for the West Coast Kustoms Cruisin' Nationals last Saturday and figured we should find another event to check out in the afternoon before heading home. We didn't know what to expect, but ended up having an amazing time at the Best of the West Vintage Equipment Show.
This annual event takes place over Memorial Day weekend and puts on quite a show if you are a fan of vintage tractors, airplanes and military vehicles. The venue is the Santa Margarita Ranch which is a secluded spot with a stone and wood barn, a stream and airstrip for vintage airplanes. Attendees were able to check out a B-25 bomber, enjoy a military parade, vintage train ride and eat plenty of BBQ. There were a lot of activities for the kids too.
The star attractions though were the rows of vintage tractors on display. Some incredible examples of tractors from the early 1900's were there and running to show how steam power made it all possible.
We had such a great time at the Best of the West Show that we hope we can get up there again next year to attend.
